General Fire Awareness

A key element to compliance with the FSO 2005 is to identify and sufficiently train members of staff in fire awareness. This will include:

  • Legislation
  • Definition of Fire
  • Controlling the Fire
  • Methods of Fire Spread
  • Compartmentation
  • Good Housekeeping
  • Classes of Fire
  • Fire Extinguishers (theory)

Advanced Fire Training

A general fire awareness course with the addition of:

  • Safe use of fire extinguishers including the practical application on awide range of live fire scenarios bespoke to the organisational needs.
  • These individuals will form a vital part in the first response to any fire situation without losing vital seconds to minimise the initial impact of a fire.

Designated Fire Marshal Training

Fire Marshals form the backbone of the continued fire safety culture within an organisation, and are responsible for specific duties allocated to them dependent upon their physical location within the company. These will include periodic general inspections and reporting directly to the Fire Safety Manager/Nominated Person.

An advanced fire-training course with the addition of:

  • Understanding Fire Precautions
  • Pro-active Duties
  • Re-active Duties
  • Human Behaviour
  • Fire Service Liaison

Providing the Fire Service with the correct information at the correct time will have a great impact on the subsequent action plan taken by the attending Fire Incident Commander.

Tony Bolder

Fire Safety Trainer

Tony has over 25 years Fire and Rescue Service experience, is a graduate of the Institution of Fire Engineers and a technical member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health. He is currently undertaking a BSc (Hons) in Safety and Environmental Management and studied Fire Dynamics to post-graduate diploma level.

Having hands-on operational experience in all types of emergency incidents and situations, and extensive experience in fire safety has enabled Tony to train and develop fire-fighters to an exceptionally high level. He was the lead officer for hazardous materials,and has sat as a Fire Service national examiner.

He understands the complexity of requirements when it comes to dealing with fire and workplace safety, and also the needs of a business to focus on its products and services. Rest assured that the training Tony will provide for your business is well researched, and will give you a balanced approach to your needs under both the Fire Safety Order and Health and Safety Regulations.
